Princess Catherine and Prince William are senior members of the British Royal Family and serve as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Princess Catherine and Prince William have just shared a heartbreaking new update about Prince Louis, opening up further about how his recently disclosed chronic medical condition is affecting their young son and the entire Wales family. The couple stressed that Louis is “coping bravely,” but admitted the past weeks have been some of the most challenging of their lives as parents.

In this fresh update, Catherine explained that Louis has experienced “a series of difficult days,” including episodes of exhaustion and discomfort that have forced the family to cancel or scale back several private and public plans. Doctors remain optimistic, but have adjusted his treatment and monitoring schedule, meaning more time in clinics and fewer high‑pressure public moments for the seven‑year‑old royal.

William added that while Louis’s condition is still described as manageable, it is “not a simple fix,” and they are preparing for a long journey of ups and downs. He emphasized that their priority is to give Louis as normal and happy a childhood as possible, even if that means the public sees less of him at major royal events.

Catherine shared that George and Charlotte have been “incredibly protective” of their little brother, helping to keep his spirits up at home and understanding when plans suddenly change because Louis is unwell. The couple also thanked the public for the outpouring of prayers and kind messages, saying those expressions of support have given them strength on the hardest days.
