Although Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding was an illustrious ceremony, the event has not been smooth sailing.
According to Robert Hardman, the royal biographer who published his book "Queen of Our Times: The Life of Elizabeth II", Meghan's response to her soon-to-be father-in-law King Charles III's kind gesture left him somewhat taken aback.
According to Hardman, the then-Prince of Wales readily agreed to honour Meghan by escorting her to the altar aisle of St George's Chapel. However, the Duchess wished to make her grand entrance alone. The incident suggested that Meghan would not be a blushing bride, but rather an independent, self-assured woman.
