Princess Charlotte has accepted the title of Princess Royal or any other new role to replace Princess Anne. Claims of a "historic moment" where King Charles bestowed this title upon her originate from YouTube videos and social media posts that explicitly label their content as "fiction," "entertainment," and "speculation" in their disclaimers.
The title of Princess Royal is a life peerage currently held by Princess Anne, the sister of King Charles III. By strict royal tradition, this title is held for life and cannot be transferred or shared; it only becomes available upon the death of the current holder. Since Princess Anne is alive and actively fulfilling her royal duties, the title is not available to be granted to Charlotte.
While Charlotte has not received the title now, royal experts and biographers confirm that she is the most likely candidate to become the next Princess Royal in the future. Once Princess Anne passes away, King Charles (or eventually King William) could choose to grant the title to Charlotte as the eldest daughter of the monarch, continuing the centuries-old tradition.
